Sevilla Habla!

About Sevilla Habla!

Sevilla Habla was founded in 2012 with a specific goal in mind: to build a Spanish school where students learned the language properly while experiencing what Seville actually is, not a sanitised tourist version of it. Thirteen years later the school has taught more than 10,000 students from across the world, holds official accreditation from the Instituto Cervantes, and occupies a 350-square-metre space right in the heart of the city on Calle Cuesta del Rosario, a few steps from the Ayuntamiento and the Plaza de la Alfalfa.

The school teaches Spanish and only Spanish. No English lessons, no other languages. That single-subject focus means every teacher, every resource, and every activity is pointed at the same thing. Classes run in groups of a maximum of nine students, spread across 16 to 18 groups covering levels from A1 to C1, which means the school can almost always place a new student at the right level rather than asking them to settle for the nearest available slot. Most courses start every Monday of the year. Students choose morning or afternoon and if a lesson is missed, it can also be recovered.

A standard week at Sevilla Habla is not just classroom hours. Daily cultural classes, walking tours, language exchange sessions, tapas routes, and other outdoor activities are built into the programme. The school’s view is that students learn faster when they are using Spanish in real situations alongside real Sevillanos, not just practising verb conjugations in a room. By the end of the first week, most students already know people from other groups and several different countries, are moving around the city with confidence, and will be surprised by how much their Spanish has improved already.

"Sevilla Habla is well known in the expat community for being one of the very best language schools in Seville with excellent teachers for all levels. So many people have recommended this school to me in the past and I personally know the founder Pablo López, who does everything he can to make sure students feel at home both inside and outside the classroom here. This is the highest rated school in Seville and my personal favourite for anyone that wants to vastly improve their Spanish."

How to Get to Sevilla Habla in Seville

AI-Generated Review Summary

Sevilla Habla has 4.9 stars from 579 Google reviews. The reviews are overwhelmingly in English and notably specific, which tends to mean the experiences were real enough to remember in detail.

Teachers get named regularly. Carmen appears across multiple recent reviews from different months, described by one reviewer as using song and dance alongside grammar and having invented a set of rhymes for prepositions that students still recite after the course ends. Bell, Emma, Chelo and Carmen Campos also come up by name, all praised for being patient, flexible and genuinely attentive to individual students rather than just working through a fixed syllabus.

What comes through most clearly is how much reviewers write about the school as a place rather than just a classroom. One student spent four weeks and describes the meriendas, themed walking tours, cultural exchanges and weekly informal language exchanges as woven into the week, not bolted on. Another who spent three weeks says the afternoon activities were a proper way to meet people and get to know Seville. A Czech reviewer who called it the best Spanish school she could imagine specifically mentions evening cultural activities running three times a week and giving a more accurate picture of the city than she had expected. One person who has both taught and studied Spanish in Seville across ten years puts Sevilla Habla as their first choice, and flags the pricing as genuinely reasonable for what the course includes.

The office team also gets mentioned consistently. Friendly, helpful, quick to respond. That shows up enough times to be worth noting.

Common Questions About Sevilla Habla!

Courses run from complete beginner (A1) through to C1. The school runs 16 to 18 groups simultaneously across those levels, which means new students are placed at their actual level rather than the nearest available slot. Groups are organised by level, not by age.

Students come from all over the world. The largest groups tend to be from the US, UK, Germany, Italy, France, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Korea and Australia, though that changes week to week. Courses are for adults aged 18 and over and the age spread in any given class is wide. Someone in their 20s and someone in their 60s could easily be in the same group, placed there because they are at the same level, not because of anything else. In practice this works better than it might sound.

From the first day, lessons focus on practical communication alongside grammar and exercises. The afternoon cultural activities and weekly language exchanges put students in real conversations with locals and other visitors, which accelerates progress in a way that classroom time alone does not. The school says most students are surprised by how much their Spanish has moved by the end of the first week.

Most courses start every Monday. Absolute beginners have specific start dates rather than open rolling enrolment, so it is worth checking those before booking. Beyond that there is no fixed term structure and the minimum commitment is one week.

Yes. The school issues official invitation letters for student visa applications at consulates and embassies worldwide. They also issue letters for use at the Oficina de Extranjeria in Seville for NIE and TIE applications, visa extensions and conversion from tourist status to student visa status.

Spanish lessons, daily cultural classes and the weekly language exchange are all included in the weekly price. All course materials are included too. Accommodation is not included in the course fee but the school can arrange it separately if needed.
